Finding Professional Services for Red Light and Laser Treatments
What to Look For When Trying to Find a Professional Laser Service for Fertility or Women’s Health
So, you’ve been using red light therapy for fertility for a while now, maybe you’ve got a panel at home or a handheld device, and you’ve been really consistent, but... nothing’s really changed (or things have in fact gone downhill...) There's been no noticeable shifts in your cycle, no improvements in egg quality, and maybe you’re even starting to wonder if PBM (photobiomodulation) just isn’t your thing - or that it doesn't work.
.First, let me reassure you, PBMT works. But (and it’s a big BUT), the results you get depend on a few things - using the right wavelengths, the right power, and the right protocol (placement on the body). If you’re older or have a fertility diagnosis like endometriosis, PCOS or low AMH or egg quality issues, time is precious. Waiting months to see if a home device works when you could be getting targeted, professional PBM support now isn’t the best strategy. I usually suggest 3 months of at home devices and tracking your data carefully. If you’ve been doing red light therapy for months with no noticeable changes, it’s not that red light therapy doesn’t work, it’s that you need a professional service designed specifically for fertility.
Red Light Therapy for Fertility
Find a provider that understands the complexity of reproductive health as part of women’s wellness.
Can I See Any Professional with a Laser?
That depends…for example;
Option 1: My Local Chiropractor Has a Laser
Many chiropractors offer high-powered laser therapy (often Class 3B or Class 4 lasers), and you might be tempted to book an appointment with them because, hey, they have the equipment, right?
But is it that simple?
🛑 Chiropractors and physical therapists specialize in musculoskeletal health, not reproductive health. Their protocols are typically designed for pain relief, inflammation reduction, and nerve repair, not for optimizing egg quality, improving uterine receptivity, or increasing stem cell activity. Many of the lasers used are preprogrammed with protocols for everything BUT fertility (unless of course you’re working with the wonderful women’s health physio, Anne-Marie Jensen). You can watch my interview with Anne-Marie and her use of laser here.
🛑 They may not be using the right protocols. Many chiropractors are trained in using lasers for joints, back pain, and soft tissue healing, but fertility-focused PBM requires specific protocols, including cycle synchronization, ovarian stimulation, and sacral nerve targeting.
🛑 One-size-fits-all dosing. Fertility laser therapy needs to be personalized. Are you dealing with PCOS? Endometriosis? Poor egg quality? These all require different approaches. Most general PBMT providers don’t tailor treatments for reproductive health as they don't have the knowledge.
🛑 Flexible Scheduling. Timing is everything when it comes to fertility. Be sure to ask about early morning/late night and weekend appointments to coincide with ovulation and/or IUI/IVF.
Option 2: A Fertility Laser Specialist
Now, let’s talk about why seeing a PBMT specialist with a focus on fertility and women’s health can make all the difference.
A Deep Understanding of Reproductive Laser Therapy – A fertility-focused provider doesn’t just point a laser at your lower abdomen and call it a day. They use cycle-based protocols, ensuring the right dose, wavelength, and timing based on your menstrual cycle, ovulation phase, and implantation window.
The Right Equipment – Fertility PBM specialists use Class 3B or Class 4 lasers that reach the ovaries, uterus, sacrum, and lymphatic system, ensuring deep tissue penetration that at-home panels or handheld devices can’t provide. In my clinic I also use photopuncture techniques using specific acupoints (and your partner’s treatment is included).
A Strong Focus on Hormonal Balance and Cellular Regeneration – Professional fertility PBM isn’t just about reducing inflammation, it’s about stimulating mitochondrial function in the eggs, boosting blood flow to the uterus, and even increasing stem cell production for long-term reproductive health.
Customized Treatment Plans – If you have PCOS, endometriosis, low AMH, or poor egg quality, you need a specific PBM approach. A fertility laser expert will tailor your sessions based on your diagnosis and goals. As Solasta I offer flexible appointment scheduling to work with your cycle and any ART you may be using.
Integrates PBM With Holistic Fertility Care – The best fertility PBM providers combine laser therapy with lifestyle guidance, nutrition, and other complementary fertility treatments. I offer a mind-body approach with complimentary access to my FertileMind app and book, as well as support and information on natural fertility awareness (cervical mucous, temping and cervical position). I am so appreciative of my Midwifery training in preconception care and reproductive health.
Use What’s Available
Having experienced my own fertility challenges I am quite protective of other women struggling with this unprecedented life crisis, as it’s so much more than a physical issue - an understanding of the mental toll of infertility-related distress is so important. (My laser treatments with women often end up as a fertility coaching/counselling sessions so it’s truly holistic care). New moms coming for postpartum healing such as nipple pain or cesarean recovery will also receive evidence-based information and resources as I’ve worked in this area for many years. You’re never left lying alone unattended under a laser while the provider sees other clients. But some women are fine with that and if that’s all that’s available in your community, then use what’s available. I would encourage anyone considering working in this area of women’s health to get additional training so women are receiving consistent, quality, compassionate care no matter where they live
PBM for fertility is so much more than just blasting light onto your abdomen, it’s a science-backed therapy that, when done correctly, can dramatically support your path to parenthood.
